Aug. 11, 2016: ICYM and YCS units of Kirem parish jointly organized “GADYANTH EK DEES” on Sunday, 7th August 2016 at Shantipalke, near Kirem.

The inaugural program was presided by Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello, Parish priest of Kirem Church with chief guest Mr. Sudhakar Salian, local dramatist inaugurating the program.

Various teams from Kinnigoli, Kirem, Pakshikere, Balkunje, Niddodi and Paladka parishes actively took part in various traditional competitions arranged in different age categories. Pot breaking, pyramid, tug of war, treasure hunt, stalls consisting of delicious traditional food items added colors to the celebration.

Fr. Ronald Dsouza, Diocesan ICYM youth Director was the chief guest with Mr. Jackson  Dcosta, President of ICYM Central Council being the guest of honor for the valedictory ceremony.

Kirem parish team emerged as the overall champions and Kinnigoli parish team bagged the runners up trophy.

This celebration gave an opportunity to many people to refresh their childhood memories and to understand about typical practices and cultures of coastal Karnataka.
